Albert Eaton

December 30, 1933 — October 18, 2014

Mr. Eaton was born in Toronto, Canada on December 30, 1933. His father was born in Malpas, England and his mother was born in Dunfermline, Scotland. He and his family moved to Orlando, Florida in 1947, where he attended Orlando area schools, graduating from Orlando Senior High School in 1952. Mr. Eaton attended Orlando Junior College, now known as Valencia Community College, and received a B.S. Degree from Florida Southern College. He completed his formal education upon receiving a J.D. Degree from Nova University Law School. He was a member of The Florida Bar and practiced law in Orlando. He was admitted to practice in all courts in Florida, the Federal District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando, Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, Atlanta, Georgia, and the Supreme Court of the United States, Washington, D.C.
He was married to the former Joann Morgan for over fifty years. They had two sons, Douglas and Daniel, two daughtersinlaw, Cindy and Krisann, a grandson, Colin, and a granddaughter, Shayna, all of whom live in the Orlando area.
Mr. Eaton was active in many Masonic bodies having served as Master of the Orlando Lodge No. 69 in 1976 and District Deputy Grand Master of the 16th, now 17th, Masonic District in 1986. He was a 33 Scottish Rite Mason a member of all York Rite bodies in Orlando, Florida, the York Rite College the Royal Order of Scotland and was a member of Bahia Shrine Temple, where he served as Temple attorney for 15 years.
Mr. Eaton was the convenor and President of the Clan Home Society. He received the authority, in 1979, to establish the Clan Home Society, which was the first ever formed, from the late Lord Home of Hirsel, Alexander Douglas Home, the then Chief of Clan Home and former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
He was the Vice President of the Orlando Scottish Heritage Group, Inc.
Being an active bagpipe player, he served as pipe major of the Orlando Pipes and Drums, for several years, and lastly, as Pipe Master of the Stirling Scottish Pipe Band, a grade III band. He was always active in piping circles and taught bagpiping. He was a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, he served in the U.S. Army, was a Colonel in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and was a Licensed Commercial Pilot for over 50 years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Orlando Scottish Rite, Winter Park, at 1:00pm. Arrangements entrusted to Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home. 407.898.2561.
