Mrs. Ana Luisa Rivera, 94, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, at Vitas Hospice Care Unit in Rockledge, Florida.
Ana was born on August 19, 1931 in Carolina, Puerto Rico to Santiago Pastrana and Aurea Alvarez de Pastrana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, the late Antonio Rivera, Sr., brothers Adolfo Pastrana, Ricardo Pastrana, Jose Pastrana as well as her sister Paula Pastrana.
Ana worked for many years for Payco Ice Cream Factory in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico as a bookkeeper. In later years, she cherished her role as a wife, mother and homemaker.
Ana regularly attended St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Orlando where she was actively involved in bible studies along with her husband Antonio.
She loved to entertain and cook for others in her home. Friends and family were often blessed by her hospitality, her wonderful food and especially her famous homemade flan.
She had a love of gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting, shopping and exploring.
Ana is survived by two sons, Antonio Rivera, Jr. (Penny) of Rockledge, Florida and Javier Rivera (Ana) of St. Cloud, Florida; three grandchildren, Benjamin Rivera, Isabella Rivera and Sara Rivera. In addition, she is survived by relatives including many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held on Sunday, October 12th from 10AM to 12PM at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home in Orlando, Florida. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha, Florida.
