Annie Elizabeth Roberts

Anne “Annie” Elizabeth Roberts, 88, passed away on January 11, 2024. Annie was born in Boone County, West Virginia on June 23, 1935. She was the eldest of six daughters born to Simeon and Vivian Dolin. Annie and her sisters were brought up with the church and the Lord as the center of the family. Annie even sang solos and duets at church. Annie watched over her five sisters setting a wonderful example for them to follow by never being mean but she is remembered as always being nice and kind. In high school, her best friend was her sister, Jean, who even went on Annie’s senior trip with her even though she wasn’t a senior. Annie was a hit as the star in the senior play “Football Fever” portraying a tomboy. Annie is remembered as always reading books and magazines. While the other sisters were playing, Annie could always be found reading. There was always fun and music in a household with six girls. Annie met her husband, Claude, after she was in a car accident. Claude came to the hospital to donate blood. They were together from that day forward. They married on November 23, 1956. In 1963, Annie and Claude along with their daughter Judith relocated to Orlando, Florida. Annie and Claude’s second daughter, Kathy was born later that year. Annie was involved in the community. She was instrumental in getting the street paved in the neighborhood and often campaigned for the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society when collections were made door-to-door. Annie was involved in the PTA, elected the homeroom chair for her daughter’s sixth grade, and volunteered at the Pershing Elementary reading lab. Annie worked at Orlando Health for over thirty years in different capacities – billing, administration, reception. She was the perfect employee to work with the public. She could talk to anyone. Annie is being remembered as a sweetheart, wonderful, lovely, beautiful inside and out, sweet, elegant, gracious, and kind. She was all these things and so much more. She symbolized the love of God and family in all that she did. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
