Jonesborough, TN - Beryl Otterson Johnson, a beloved wife, mother, dedicated Registered Nurse, and cherished member of the community, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023, at the age of 82. Born on December 6, 1940, in Muskegon, MI, Beryl had a profound impact on the lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey. 

Beryl's dedication to caring for others was evident from an early age, and she pursued her passion by earning a Bachelor's Degree in nursing. Throughout her career, she tirelessly served in the medical field, providing compassionate care to countless patients. Beryl's kind nature and gentle spirit brought solace to those in need during times of distress, and her impact as a healthcare provider will be forever remembered. 

Beryl married the love of her life Robert Johnson on  January 19th, 1963 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The two shared a beautiful life for 58 years until Roberts passing in 2021. It is heartwarming to know that  Robert, Raymond, and Beryl were reunited and all together again. 

Outside of her professional achievements, Beryl was a devoted and loving mother to her Children, Cynthia and Raymond. Their bond was unbreakable, and their shared memories will continue to be cherished by Cynthia and all those who knew Beryl. Her guidance, support, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

To honor and celebrate Beryl's remarkable life, funeral services will be held on August 25, 2023. A Viewing will take place at 10:30 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 am at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home. The final Graveside Service will be held at Dr Philips Cemetery at 1:00 pm. These services will provide an opportunity for loved ones to gather, reminisce, and say their final farewells to Beryl.

In accordance with her wishes, Beryl will be laid to rest in the hallowed grounds of Dr Philips Cemetery. This peaceful resting place will serve as a fitting tribute to a beautiful life, where Robert and Beryls memory will forever be surrounded by tranquility and beauty.

May we all find comfort in knowing that Beryl's legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will continue to inspire us. While she will forever hold a special place in our hearts, we know she will never be to far way as long as we have her beloved cat Rascal by ourside. 

For those who wish to honor Beryl's memory, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice or to a local nursing scholarship fund in her name.

We extend our deepest condolences to her daughter Cynthia, son-in-law James and all of Beryl's loved ones during this difficult time. May they find strength, peace, and solace as they remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of Beryl Otterson Johnson.
