Billy Stanfield, 85, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026.

Born on September 13, 1940, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Billy lived a life defined by service, adventure, and an unwavering optimism. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where his military career allowed him to travel extensively. Of all the places he visited, Texas, California, and Hawaii remained among his favorites.

Billy had a deep appreciation for history and was a true history buff who enjoyed learning about the past especially WWII. He also had a passion for the automotive industry, loved deep-sea fishing, and never lost his enthusiasm for traveling and discovering new places. Those who knew Billy will remember him as an outgoing, optimistic man who never met a stranger. He loved to talk, share stories, and brighten the day of those around him. His favorite saying, “Be happy,” reflected the way he chose to live his life and the outlook he encouraged in others.

Above all, Billy cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Stanfield of Orlando, Florida; his daughter, Sherri (Keith) Duffek of Rossville, Georgia; two cherished grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; his stepson, Chris (Melissa) Foster of Oviedo, Florida, all of whom will continue to honor his memory.

Billy’s life was one of service, curiosity, laughter, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, conversation, and a reminder to appreciate each day.

A committal service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 U.S. Highway 1, Mims, Florida. Family and friends are invited to attend as they gather to celebrate Billy’s life and honor his faithful service to his country.
