In Loving Memory of Christine Lynn Anderson

Christine Lynn Anderson, lovingly known as Christy, passed away in the presence of family on the evening of November 20, 2025, at the age of 74.

Christy was preceded in death by her father, Edward Anderson, and her mother, Marion Anderson. She is survived by her sister, Carrie Bruns and her husband Alan, her brother Jeff Anderson and his wife, Kathie, her niece Kristen Chubon, her husband Corey and their two daughters, Eloise and Vivian and her nephew John Anderson and his wife Sara. Christy is also survived by several beloved cousins and many, many cherished friends.

Born in Port Huron, Michigan, on December 19, 1950, Christy spent her childhood and teen years traveling the United States and Puerto Rico as part of a career Air Force family. Eventually Christy's family retired in Orlando, Florida, where she graduated from Oak Ridge High school in 1968. Christy went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Journalism from the University of South Florida. Soon after graduation, Christy moved to San Francisco, California, where she spent almost 30 years as a talented writer in the advertising industry, respected by her many colleagues and clients alike. Over the years, Christy has remained in close contact with the many wonderful friends she made while living in San Francisco.

Christy most recently lived in Cape Canaveral, Florida, where she and her friends regularly enjoyed beachtime, rocket launches, restaurants and festivals. She was an active member of St. David's by the Sea Episcopal Church and loved serving on the Outreach Committee, leading the Book Club and joining Friday Friends. She also looked forward each year to helping with the Easter Egg Hunt and participating in the Trunk or Treat festivities.

Christy was a social member of the Port Canaveral Yacht Club and especially enjoyed stepping in as an occasional volunteer bartender at the club's tiki bar. Christy also served her community as a docent at the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse where she loved sharing the history of the area with visitors.

Christy's love of plants prompted her to join the University of Florida Extension Center (UF/IFAS) located on Conway Road in Orlando where she earned the designation, Master Gardner. There, she co-led garden tours and participated in classes, plant clinics and the annual Garden Festival and Plant Sale. Christy started a community garden at St. Mary of the Angel's Episcopal Church when she attended there, and she was tending a raised bed garden on the balcony of her condo at the time of her passing. Christy also loved butterflies and would rescue caterpillars, tend to them in a "caterpillar condo" and release them as full grown butterflies.

Perhaps Christy's favorite pastime was travel. She loved everything from day trips to international travel. In her lifetime, Christy visited more than 20 countries, at least 4 Caribbean Islands and countless US states. She loved shopping trips, scuba trips, road trips, cruises and culture. Christy was an adventurer, making friends wherever she went and making a point to visit friends whenever she ventured into their homelands.

Christy will be remembered for her kind heart, quick wit, love of laughter, adventurous spirit, positivity and her trademark smile. Her presence in our lives was a blessing and her memory will live forever in our hearts.
