Daniel Frank Poore

Daniel Poore, age 73, a cherished Son, Husband, Father, Father-in-law, Grandfather, Brother, and Uncle, passed away on April 11, 2026. Born on April 10, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Throughout his life, Dan exemplified unwavering devotion to his faith, having asked Jesus into his heart as a young boy. A committed Christian, he had a servant's heart and a profound love for people. Dan’s enduring smile and love for life touched the lives of all who knew him. His passions encompassed long-distance running, having completed over 25 marathons, as well as a love for cycling, softball, and serving in church. He found joy in watching Baseball, Football, Soccer, Golf, and Basketball.

Dan was a walking miracle whose resilience helped him triumph over multiple severe cardiac events and health issues for 19 years.

Dan graduated from The University of New Mexico with a degree in marketing. It was here that he met the love of his life, Sherie, while actively involved in Campus Crusade for Christ. They wed on October 8, 1977, in Albuquerque, NM, embarking on a life of shared ministry. They joined staff and ministered together with Campus Crusade for Christ for 20 years in California, Texas and Florida. They were blessed with five children — Nolan, Brent, Kaylynn, Chad and Lauryn all of whom he loved dearly.

Preceded in death by his biological Dad, Edgar Gibson when Dan was age 5. He was blessed to have a second Dad at age 12, Charles Poore Sr. who passed away in 2020.

Dan is survived by his cherished Mom, Muriel Poore, his beloved wife, Sherie Poore, his children, Nolan Poore (Jessica), Brent Poore, Kaylynn Price (Justin), Chad Poore and Lauryn Harris (Dakota), his sisters, Debbie Lynn Garrison (Randy), Debbie Ann Black (Frog) and Wanda Shawcroft (Jeff), his brothers Charlie Poore Jr. (Mary Ann) and Doug Poore (Janet), his brother-in-law Darrell Briggs, his grandchildren Lucas Price, Micah Price, Jules Price, Grace Harris and Maverick Poore. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews of the Gibson, Mishler and Poore families.

A Celebration of Life to honor Dan Poore will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, FL, 32806.

Dan’s memory will endure through the lives he touched and the love he shared with those around him. We know that Dan is in Heaven enjoying God’s presence and fullness of joy.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Dan’s name to Samaritan’s Purse, an organization which was close to his heart.
