Darnelle Lorraine Forrester

Sadly, Darnelle Lorraine (Chin) Forrester left us on August 6, 2024, at 74 years old after her 19-month battle with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Not only does she leave behind many grieving loved ones, but also a whole heck of a lot of stuff that her daughter has no idea what to do with. So if you are in the market for lamps, beer mugs from Austria, bamboo trays from Jamaica, tools and kitchen devices, nappies from 1973, note pads and pens, an obscene amount of silverware and dishes for someone who claimed to enjoy cooking but kept Golden Krust Restaurant in business with her takeout orders, an impressive collection of DVDs in varying genres, and her collection of Christian books you should probably get in touch. Soon. This might sound more like an ad for a garage sale, but it really is an obituary for an incredible woman, devoted mother, supportive sister, aunt, and friend. Darnelle was known for her effervescent personality, her sassiness and sometimes contrary nature, her adventurous and impulsive spirit, and her fierce devotion to her loved ones. Darnelle never shied away from speaking her mind, but always with the best intentions at heart. Darnelle was not only a pillar of strength within her family but also in her community. She was known for her generous spirit, always willing to give her money, her time, and prayers. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found solace and purpose in her church community, where she was an active and beloved member. She is preceded in death by her mother Norma (Dunn) Rawle, and her grandmother, Gloria Gough. She is survived by her Daughter, Deborah Hartwell, and Son-in-Law, Eric Hartwell; her Grandchildren, Daniel Cross, Rachel Cross, Savaughn Hartwell, and Ciara Hartwell; Siblings, Kirk (Trina) Rawle, Karlene Rawle (Tennyson) Walters, and Gary (Sharon) Rawle; Nephews, Dominik, Moise, and Khalel; Nieces, Monet (Russell), Nataliya, and Taylor; Aunts, Elaine Africa, and Aileen "Vonnie" (Fred) Thompson; Uncles, Arthur (Priscilla) Rawle, James "Jimmy" Rawle, Lydon (Joyce) Dunn, and Cleveland Dunn; Cousins, Sherrel (Andre) Taylor Domville, Christopher Wayne Davis, Richard (Michelle) Rawle, Shelly-Ann (David) Collins Rawle, and Christopher (Jamila) Rawle; and Godson A.J. Taylor-Domville, and many friends who will miss her dearly. A celebration of Darnelle's life will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 1:00 pm EST at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home: 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando Florida 32806. A private viewing for the family will be held at 11 am, followed by public viewing at noon on August 20. Repast to follow. Darnelle wished for everyone to wear bright colors to celebrate her life. Her favorite color was red.
