Eleanor Stephens

Eleanor Jean Gavitt Stephens, 88, passed away on August 29, 2025, at her home in Orlando, FL. She was born in 1937 in Yorks Corners, NY and raised by her parents, George and Mildred Crum Gavitt. She married Walter Ronald Stephens in 1955, and they moved to Orlando in 1958, where they remained and raised three children.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Walter (2004), and her son, Ronald Andrew Stephens (2023). She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Stephens Langfeld; her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debra Stephens; her grandsons, Vernon Langfeld and Christopher Stephens; her granddaughters, Casey and Kory (Jeff) Brooker, Holly and Matthew (David) Blackford, and Dawn Langfeld; and her great-grandchildren, Evan Langfeld, and Alexis and Avery Brooker.

The family gives special thanks to Cornerstone Hospice for their support and care. Eleanor's love for the Lord shone through in her actions towards others. But those closest to her also knew she was a bit of a spitfire and was known for speaking her mind.

Her service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, at Colonial Funeral Home, with visitation with family starting at 10 a.m.

A private burial will follow for family only.

In lieu of flowers, Eleanor requested that donations be made to Russell Home in Orlando, FL.
