Elsie Briggs

Elsie Lenora Briggs born September 29, 1920 went to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 16, 2019 at the age of 98. Elsie grew up in Marquette, Michigan.  She played on the beaches of Lake Superior which was a block away from her home. She ran through woods and picked berries on blueberry hill. She attended secretarial school and worked till she got married. She married Buddy Briggs and had two children, Darrel and Sherie. She was a homemaker and a stay at home mom from then on The family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1960 due to health issues. She was a member of St. Pauls Methodist Church and was very involved in the ministries there. She moved over 12 times and always got to know her neighbors and shared food and love with them. Elsie loved arts and crafts, sewing, woodworking, reading and above all cooking. Besides Jesus, food was the answer to all problems. She cooked very nutritious and healthy food and shared it with people around her. Elsie loved to celebrate holidays and would decorate the house accordingly.She loved collecting bears, angels and doves. She also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. She loved Elvis Presley and his movies and songs. She cherished her kids and her grandkids and her great grandkids.

Elsie is survived by her brother, Ernest Johnson, daughter, Sherie Poore and son, Darrel Briggs. Her Grandsons; Nolan Poore, Brent Poore and Chad Poore and her Granddaughters; Mindy Henson, Vicky Cooper (husband, Rich) Kaylynn Price (husband, Justin) and Lauryn Poore. Great Grandkids Desiree, Savannah, Lexi, Wyatt, Annabelle, Darrel, Serenity, Lucas and Micah.  Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Buddy Briggs, her sister Betty Allred, her mother and father, Rose and Albert Johnson.
