Ernest Amiot

March 2, 1925 — June 28, 2017

With the belief that a new journey begins with the passing of an earthly life, we announce that Ernest (Ernie, Dad, Pop Pop) F. Amiot earned his wings June 28th, 2017. His life was very full and is celebrated with a legacy of the ages. Born in East Hartford, Connecticut, he served proudly in the United States Coast Guard and is a proud Veteran of World War II. For seventeen years, he was an Electrical Engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and in 1963 he moved his family to Orlando, Florida where he started a successful business, Technical Associates, that he maintained until his retirement. Ernie touched many people's lives through his dedication to the Good Shepherd Catholic Church community for over 50 years. This is evidenced, in short, by the Annual Fall Fun Festival, The Shepherdtown Players, and the Patio Chefs. To The City of Orlando FL, he volunteered at the Beardall Senior Center teaching seniors to use computers. Ernie put the needs and feelings of other's first throughout his long and joyful life. Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Mary P. Amiot, sons David B., Ernest J., and John W. Amiot; grandchildren Michael J. Amiot, John Thomas Amiot, Rachel Amiot Moore, David Engle Amiot, Katherine A. Amiot, Gregory A. Amiot, Christopher A. Amiot; great grandchildren Gavin Brown, Corbin Moore, Alexandra Moore, and Morgan Johnson; preceded in heaven by his grandchild Nicholas A. Amiot. Please share in the families sadness that Ernie is no longer with us on earth; but share our celebration of a new life that is everlasting. God speed Pop Pop. We love you.
