Gary Hamilton

Gary Ralph Hamilton, the son of Virginia and Walter Hamilton, passed away on June 27, 2016 after a very brief battle with cancer. He was born on August 12, 1955 in Orlando, Florida. Gary is survived by his wife Melissa Hamilton, daughters Hillary Schaber, Holly Harding, Heidi Price, Meg Hill and Patrick Hill as well as his brother Steve Hamilton. A loving and devoted husband and father, Gary grew up in Orlando and graduated from Boone High School. He attended the University of Central Florida, receiving a criminal justice degree. Working for the family dry cleaning business for many years, Gary eventually settled into a career as a sales professional representing companies like AT&T, US LEC, Clark Food Service and most recently Haverty's Furniture. Gary also had a passion for education and teaching history and in later years worked as a long term substitute teacher. Funeral services are being held on Saturday, July 2nd at 1:00pm at Concord Street Church of Christ at 626 East Concord St. in Orlando. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Dora Christian Academy, 301 W. 13th Avenue, Mt. Dora, Florida 32757. Arrangements entrusted to Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, Orlando, FL.
