George Palmer

November 2, 1934 — July 13, 2014

George W. Palmer, Jr., 79, of Orlando, FL, beloved Husband, Father, Brother, and friend to the hundreds of musicians he worked and played with throughout his life, went peacefully to his maker on July 13, 2014. He was born on November 2, 1934, in Glens Falls, NY, to George and Doris Palmer of Lake Luzerne, NY. Bill made music all his life working stage and vaudeville shows as a youth, and he served 20 years in the United States Navy as a Trombonist. After retiring from the Navy, where he met and married his wife while stationed on a ship in Formosa Taiwan, he moved his family to Winter Park, FL in 1971, and played in bands at Disney World, Rosie O Gradys, and Circus World. Dixieland Jazz was Bills musical love, and every note he played came from his heart. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ling, his brothers and their families Ron in St. Augustine, FL, and Bob at the Villages, FL, his children and their families: daughter Linda, sons Bob, Ed and Will, ten grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, and his lovable pooch, Toby. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, 2PM, at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Fl. 4078982561. Arrangements entrusted to Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home.
