With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Geri Lynn Purvis, a beautiful soul taken far too soon. Born on May 7, 1980, Geri brought light, laughter, and love into the lives of all who knew her. She passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering compassion.

Geri was preceded in death by her beloved father, Dennis Purvis, whose memory she carried close to her heart. She is survived by her devoted mother, Sharon Purvis; her cherished brother, Nathan Purvis, and his wife Nikki Purvis; and her beloved nephews and niece: Noah, Nash, and Natalie. Geri's extended family was an important part of her life and includes Aunts and Uncles Shirley and John Huber, Steve and Sharen Hooks, John and Debra Lucius, and her cousins Doug Lucius, Chris Lucius, Stephanie Harmon, Stacey Fullen, and Jordan Huber.

Geri had a deep love for music in all its forms. Whether strumming her ukulele, losing herself in a favorite movie soundtrack, or sharing new songs with friends, she had an incredible way of connecting to the world through melody. Her love for film, quirky humor, and taste in music was matched only by her warmth and loyalty.

Her work with FEMA was more than just a job-it was a calling. Geri was dedicated to helping others during their most difficult times, and in doing so, she built a second family among her colleagues. Her tireless work on disaster response teams touched countless lives and stood as a testament to her selflessness and strength.

To know Geri was to know someone who loved fiercely and cared deeply. She made people feel seen and valued, and her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.

We will carry Geri's spirit with us always-through every song, every shared memory, and every act of compassion. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of Geri's life will be held at Delaney Street Baptist Church

Visitation will begin at 12pm followed by Service at 1pm.
