Harvey Boland Hardy, 75
June 5, 1950 - October 21, 2025
Harvey Boland Hardy, 75, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, including the love of his life, Pam Hardy, who remained a constant presence in his heart and life despite their divorce.
Harvey was born in New York, to Harvey Boland Hardy and Alice Storm Hardy. The eldest of their children, he grew up with a strong sense of curiosity, adventure, and competition. He attended St. Mark's School in Massachusetts, where he excelled both academically and athletically. A gifted athlete, Harvey played baseball, football, and hockey, ultimately following in his father's footsteps to Georgia Tech University, where he continued his athletic career playing college football.
After graduating, Harvey pursued a law degree from Stetson University College of Law. He practiced law in Florida for more than 30 years. Early in his career, he and his childhood friend Clint Wallace started a law firm in Lakeland. Harvey then moved to Orlando where he continued practicing for the remainder of his career. His areas of specialty included personal injury, medical malpractice, and class action lawsuits. Harvey was deeply committed to his clients, advocating tirelessly to ensure that those injured through no fault of their own received justice and care.
Outside the courtroom, Harvey lived life with passion and energy. He had an enduring love of fast cars, motorcycles, cooking, good music, and sports. One of his greatest joys was racing, beginning with racing his Datsun in autocross competitions and later moving on to SCCA racing driving a Sports 2000, and a Formula Ford. Many weekends were spent with his family traveling to racetracks across the Southeast, including Road Atlanta, Daytona, and Roebling Road in Savannah. More recently, he enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a member of the Nam Knights of America, where they affectionately referred to him as "Counselor" because he was always willing to provide members free legal advice.
Harvey was also known for his captivating storytelling and remarkable memory. He had an uncanny ability to recall historical details and weave them into engaging stories that entertained and educated those lucky enough to listen.
He is survived by his children, stepchildren, and grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy: daughters Monica Linnenbrink (spouse: BJ Linnenbrink, son James - 10) and Alice Young (spouse: Carl Young, daughters Annabelle - 9 and Madeline - 4); son Theo Gordon-Hardy; and stepchildren Amanda Jarrett (spouse: Beau Jarrett, daughters Collins - 12 and Olivia - 9) and Ben Jackowski (spouse: Hannah Jackowski, sons Briggs - 3 and Banks - 7 months). He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Alice Hardy, his two brothers Jack and Alvah, and his sister Barbara Luikart.
Harvey's legacy is one of intelligence, humor, determination, and love for life. He will be remembered for the stories he told, the cases he fought, the delicious meals he cooked for family and friends, and the car races he drove with heart, passion, and grit.
A service will be held at 2 PM on November 2, 2025 at the Carey Hand Funeral Home in Orlando, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends honor his memory by sharing a good story, cooking a favorite meal, listening to good rock music (Richard Thompson was one of his favorites) or taking a spirited drive just as Harvey would have done.
