Helen Ames

Helen Elizabeth Ames, 83, passed away June 11, 2017, at Orlando Lutheran Towers, Orlando, Florida, after a long illness. She was born June 12, 1933, the daughter of Ott &Jennie (Lester) Rehm. Helen was married to the late James E. Ames, Jr. for 63 years prior to his death on August 28, 2015. Helen was pre-deceased by her parents, husband Jim and brothers Clifford and William Rehm. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Marion Ames (Dundee, FL) and Patricia Lambert (Warner Robins, GA), nieces, nephews and many dear friends at Orlando Lutheran Towers and in the Orlando area. Helen graduated from Whitehall High School in Whitehall, NY, class of 1951. She traveled throughout the U.S. and Europe with husband Jim until his retirement in 1982 from the Air Force, after 30 years of service. Funeral service will be conducted at the Orlando Lutheran Towers Chapel with Pastor Norton Rosebrock and Pastor Steve Rosebrock officiating on Thursday June 22, 2017 at 3:00pm. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida on Friday June 23, 2017 at 1:00pm.
