James Buckridge (Jim) passed away April 17, 2026 at the age of 86. He was born in New York City on January 31, 1940 and grew up in the surrounding areas of New Jersey and Long Island. Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force following his graduation from St. Dominic High School on Long Island in 1957 and served four years active duty. Upon his discharge he married Sue Foti of Orlando, Florida. They first resided in Roslyn Heights, New York, then Casselberry, Florida, the Tampa Florida area and have lived in Orlando, Florida for the past 44 years.
Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sue, their two sons Chris (his spouse Bria) of Mobile, Alabama and Jimmy of Orlando, Florida and five grandchildren: Connor, Andy, Bannon, Beckett and Callan Buckridge. His survivors also include his sister Barbara Buckridge of Fort Mill, South Carolina and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Jim was a great husband, dad and grandfather. He enjoyed all sports, especially Timber Creek High School football and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was active in coaching his sons Little League baseball and Hillsborough County flag football teams during their younger years while the family was living in Apollo Beach, Florida. Jim was well loved by family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him and were privy to his wit and wry sense of humor.
