James (Jim) Matthews, 72 beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and friend was called to his eternal resting place on August 27, 2026. He entered this world on October 31, 1953in Johnstown PA, born to James and Carmella Matthews. He is survived by his mother, Carmella Matthews; brother Thomas Matthews; brother Joseph Matthews; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim served in the U.S. Army from 1973-1975. He spent 29 years employed with the United States Post Office, where he made many friends whom he kept for the rest of his life. Jim loved the Lord and was dedicated to helping others. He also enjoyed rooting for his Pittsburgh Steelers.

A public viewing will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry ford Road in Orlando. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church at 4545 Anderson Road In Orlando. The internment will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 5525 US 1, Mims, Florida.
