Janet E. Brown (née Smith)
Janet E. Brown, lovingly known as a true Southern belle, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on January 8, 1941, in Atlanta and later moved with her family to Orlando during her teenage years, where she built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and friendship.
Janet was the definition of grace with a spark of sass. She always wore a smile, had a quick wit, and you truly never knew what she was going to say next - which made being around her such a joy. Her laughter was contagious, and her presence lit up every room she entered.
She loved shopping, dining out, and traveling, but nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured every gathering and every memory made together. Janet also had a lifelong love for Elvis Presley, and anyone who knew her knew her signature saying: "If it's red, it's fancy."
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert L. Brown; her daughters, Deena Taylor Clay and Charlene Taylor; her stepsons, Darwin Robert Brown and James Brown; her cherished grandchildren, Justin, Alyssa, Christina, John, and Kam; and ten adored great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, laughter, and Southern charm will live on in each of them.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Delaney Street Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
Janet will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her bright smile, her loving heart, and her unforgettable spirit.
