Jean Fuqua

Fuqua, Jean E., 94, of Orlando, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 27, 2017. Jean was born on Jan. 5, 1923 in Brockton, MA. She moved to FL in 1943 and worked at Holiday Hospital as an LPN. In 1956, Jean graduated with an RN certification from Orange Memorial Hospital. On April 7, 1961, Jean married Byrd Fuqua at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Orlando. They had no children. Jean retired at age 79. She was actively involved in the American Business Women's Association, Central Florida Jazz Society, Orange Memorial Hospital Alumni and her Bunko group. She was preceded in death by her father Willard Earl Batchelder, mother Winnifred Vivian Church, sister Doris E. Peterson and brother Willard Earl Batchelder, Jr. She leaves behind cousins and nieces. Viewing-Fri., March 10, 5-7pm, at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, where service will take place, Sat., March 11 @ 11am. Burial-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
