John F. "Jack" Glavin, 67, of Lake Mary, FL, passed away Friday, July 28th after a short yet courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Syracuse, NY to the late James P. Glavin and Julia Capriotti. He attended St. Anthony of Padua Grammar School and was a 1974 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. He moved to Orlando, FL over 40 years ago, where he became a licensed private investigator and opened his own company, Corporate Security Solutions, Inc.
In recent years, John founded Custom Containers 915 in El Paso, TX specializing in constructing modern offices, homes and multiple purpose structures out of shipping containers. In late 2020, CC915 expanded into affordable housing developments first in Newark, NJ and now in other cities around the country including Portland, Oregon; Cherokee, North Carolina; Buckeye, Arizona and Merced, California. John's vision was to bring this solution of affordable housing to address homelessness in many other cities across the country.
John loved many things in life (Miami Hurricanes, Syracuse Orange), but most of all he loved helping people, spreading joy and laughter wherever he went. His five grandchildren brought him the most joy in his life.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca "Becky"; daughter, Elizabeth R. Boese (Nathan) and their children, Emma, Blake and Julia, all of Florida; step-daughter, Christine M. Ettore (Jimmy) and their children, Kyrsten and Kaylee, all of Florida; siblings, James (Madelaine), Ed (Charlotte), Dan (Roseanne), Margaret (Ed), Marie, and Sharon, all of Syracuse; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life for John will be held Saturday, August 12th at 12:00 at Heathrow Country Club,1200 Bridgewater Dr. Lake Mary, FL 32746 (Off of International Parkway).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the V Foundation for Cancer Research, 14600 Weston Parkway Cary, NC 27513 or to the Markus Paul Foundation 365 Woldunn Circle Lake Mary, Fl 32746.
