Joseph Osowiecki

Joseph A. Osowiecki, 86. of Ocoee, Florida, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026. Joe is survived by his wife, Betty Jane (Leist) Osowiecki, the love of his life for over 64 years. He is also survived by his four children, Jennifer Osowiecki of Suffield, Connecticut, Julie (Osowiecki) Kanode of Ocoee Florida, Jeffrey Osowiecki of South Clermont, Florida, and Jay Osowiecki of Wellington, Florida; five grandchildren, Kelly, James, Sarah, John, and Jaden; and two great-grandchildren, Raidyn and Max. He also leaves his brother-in-law Raymond Leist and sister-in-law Cheryl King, who provided caring and indispensable support during Joe's last year with us, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Joe was predeceased by his two sisters, Joanne (Osowiecki) Sullivan and Janet (Osowiecki) Duval.

Son of the late Joseph and Nellie (Backiel) Osowiecki, Joe grew up in Suffield, where he had many cousins and life-long friends who affectionately nicknamed him "Butch." Joe graduated from Suffield High School in 1957 and went on to study at Hillel College (a predecessor to the University of Hartford) and Western New England College where he earned his bachelor and master degrees in business administration.

As a young man, Joe participated in an Air Force pilot training program that took him to Georgia where he met Jane and knew immediately that she was the love of his life. Joe and Jane were soon married and settled in Suffield to raise their family.

Joe worked for the United Technologies Corporation for over 30 years in various divisions in Connecticut, Alabama, and Florida before retiring in 1999. Upon retirement, Joe and Jane moved to Ocoee, Florida, where Joe enjoyed woodworking, building and flying remote controlled model airplanes, researching his genealogy and recording the family tree, being active in the Prairie Lake Village Home Owners Association and, most of all, spending his golden years with Jane. He will be missed very much.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 14th, 11am at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Rd., Orlando FL. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later date.
