Joseph Lee Tillis, Sr.

- age 82, passed away on August 4, 2025, in Deland, FL. He was born on April 18, 1943 in Orlando, FL, to Joseph W. Tillis and Audrey Cox Tillis. Joseph graduated from Boone High School in Orlando. He started his career at Sears, as Manager in the Tire Department. Then went to work for Comcar Industries as General Manager of the Fleet Department where he retired from in Winter Haven. Joe's favorite sport was Deep Sea fishing for many years. He also enjoyed playing pool with his friends. In his earlier days he coached little league baseball for his sons.

Joseph is survived by Joseph Tillis, Jr. - son, of Debary, Carol Griner - sister, of Palm Coast, Gail Cooper - sister, of Ormond Beach, John Tillis - son, Joey Tills 3rd - grandson. and Johnny Laws-grandson. He is preceded in death by Joseph W. Tillis - father, Audrey Tillis - mother, Larry Tillis -brother, Charles Tillis-brother.

Funeral services for Mr. Tillis will be held on Wednesday, August 13th,12pm at Greenwood Cemetery, 1602 Greenwood St., Orlando FL. The family will receive friends prior from 11am - 11:30am at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 Curry Ford Rd., Orlando FL. 32806
