Joyce Wilder Aide

November 13, 1940 — May 4, 2026

Joyce Anetha Wilder Aide passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. A proud fifth generation Floridian, Joyce was born on November 13, 1940, in Dowling Park, to Summer and Raye Wilder. She was the second of seven children and the only daughter in the family. At the age of 11, her family moved to Apopka where Joyce lived until she graduated from Apopka Memorial High School.

After high school, she immediately began pursuing business studies and working in accounting. Her determination and love of learning led her to return to college years later, beginning her studies the same year her daughter entered middle school. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Central Florida and went on to become a Certified Public Account (CPA). Throughout her career, Joyce generously shared her expertise through service on the Accounting Technology Advisory committee at Valencia Community College, as treasurer for Birth Defect Research for Children and as treasurer for the Artist League of Orange County.

In 1962, Joyce was crowned Miss Minute Maid and represented Florida in the Tournament of Roses Parade. That same year, she met and married her true love, Kelly Aide. Together, they shared 60 years of marriage and built a life on love, family and laughter. Joyce was the mother of one daughter, Teri Aide; grandmother to Cooper Harris; and in 2024 became great-grandmother to Miles Harris, who brought her immense joy.

A gifted artist, Joyce began painting at the age of 21 and remained passionate about art throughout her life. Her work was featured in many art shows and exhibits throughout Central Florida. Beyond painting, Joyce embraced life fully and enjoyed attending music festivals, reading, gardening, traveling, visiting museums, attending plays, concerts and the opera, and playing bridge.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Kelly; and her brothers Raymond and Terry. She is survived by her daughter, grandson, great grandson, brothers Archie, Joel, Allen and Wallace, as well as many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Joyce will be remembered for her intelligence, creativity, perseverance and deep love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on not only in the lives she has touched with her generosity and talent but in the beautiful works of physical art she has left the world.
