Linda Slayton

Linda Sue Slayton, of Orlando, FL, passed away the morning of June 2, 2025, at the age of 75. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. To know her was to love her and she celebrated life daily through her faith, laughter, and the love of her family and friends.

She was a graduate of Florida State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She retired from nursing after dedicating 43 years at Florida Hospital/AdventHealth. Linda was a member of Delaney Street Baptist Church in Orlando. She was an avid reader, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, volunteering with her church, and spending time at the beach.‍

Linda is survived by her husband, John Slayton; daughter, Lisa Downing and wife Beth Downing; son, Ben Weaver and wife Michelle Weaver; son, Dallas Slayton; grandchildren, Walker Linton and Tori Weaver; mother, Mildred Orr and two sisters, Alice Prather and Kathy Witkowski. She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Orr. Linda also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Delaney Street Baptist Church in Orlando, with a reception to follow.
