Margaret Miller Lopez died peacefully at her home in Orlando, FL on January 1, 2026 after a brief illness. Born in Orlando, FL in 1964, she was the beloved daughter of Arthur and Ada Jo Miller. Margaret graduated from Oakridge High School in 1982 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in accounting from Florida State University. She became a Certified Public Accountant and was awarded an MBA from the University of Tampa. Margaret spent most of her career with CSX corporation where she was a member of the sales and marketing team and became an expert in the transportation of commodities used in the fertilizer industry. In addition to her career with CSX, Margaret founded the CPA firm Margaret Lopez CPA in Tampa, FL which later became Lopez and Lopez PA.
In 1991, Margaret married Joseph Lopez and they began their life together in Tampa, FL and started their family.
Margaret was known to be kind, compassionate and full of energy. She spent many hours volunteering her time and talent to numerous organizations throughout her life. Since 2021, Margaret spent summers on their property in the Greenbriar Valley of West Virginia where she enjoyed the mountains, hiking, planting an orchard (with over 100 fruit trees), growing dahlias and tending a vegetable garden.
She is survived by her loving husband Joe, son Anthony, daughter Lauren, mother Ada Miller, sisters Katherine (Guy) Haggard and Elizabeth Miller, uncle Earl Miller, nephews Drew (Hannah) and Pierce Haggard. Margaret was preceded in death by her father Arthur Miller
All Friends and family are invited to gather in the Marie Williams Chapel at First Baptist Church 3000 S John Young Pkwy, Orlando, FL on Saturday January 10 at 1PM to celebrate Margaret’s life and share their memories. Reception immediately following.
The family will always be comforted by the thought that as 2026 was starting for us, Margaret was starting a new life with her Lord Jesus Christ.
