Marvin Skinrud

June 19, 1934 — May 30, 2017

Marvin L. Skinrud, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on May 30, 2017 in Orlando, Florida.
Marvin was born in Wilder, Minnesota on June 19, 1934. He was in the US Army as a paratrooper. After serving his time, he became a lineman with Florida Power here in Orlando where he retired after 36 years.
His biggest passion was hunting. He and his son, Malcolm, enjoyed hunting adventures in Africa and Argentina. Although Malcolm has now lost his hunting buddy, we know heaven has gained theirs.
When not hunting, Marv spent time making memories with all his family and friends. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren growing up, especially watching his granddaughter, Shyann, playing softball.
In 2010 we were blessed to open our family up to Kersley who was Marv's best friend. He and Kersley continued his commitment to spending time with family and friends as well as traveling hither and yon together.
Marvin is predeceased by his parents and his wife of 53 years, Marjorie Skinrud. Survivors include his son, Malcolm Skinrud and his wife, Lisa; grandchildren Shyann Skinrud and Chris Reddish; and great grandson, Brantley Reddish.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
