Marvin "Randy" Carter

April 25, 1935 — December 26, 2022

Marvin Randall (Randy) Carter, 87, of Orlando, FL went to his heavenly home on December 26, 2022.

Randy was a very loving and devoted husband, father and son. Born in Hodgenville, Kentucky, Randy was the son of the late Berney Solomon Carter and Alberta Carter. He grew up helping his father on the family farm. After serving in the Army and working as an Air Traffic Controller, he pursued his dream of Aviation. First as a Flight Instructor and then as a Commercial Airline Pilot, ultimately flying all over the world as a Captain with Pan American World Airways.

In his retirement, he enjoyed reading, gardening, electronics, music (playing harmonica, guitar and singing); usually just found time to help those he cared about. He was well-liked by friends and strangers wherever he went. The epitome of "easy going", never an unkind word.

Randy was preceded in death by his brother, Norman Carter. He is survived by his wife Nelda Carter and son Christopher Carter of Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by his nieces Stephanie Heather Carter (Darrel LeClear) of Kentucky, Karen (Donald) Geary, of Kentuckey, Tamie (Bob) Fisher, of Kentucky and Melissa Randolph, of Florida. Nephews Jeff (Tina) Randolph, of Alabama, and Eddie (Diane) Randolph, of Kentucky. Brothers-in-law Lyndell Randolph and Vernon Randolph of Kentucky.

Funeral Services will be held at a later date in Hodgenville, Kentucky. In Lieu of flowers please make charitable donations in Randy's name to the organizations below.

In our minds you will always be singing a song, bopping along in your little blue hat. Whenever you fly by, we will always be there to wave. We love you dearly and miss you so much.
