Oliver O' Neal Ziglar

June 11, 1924 — June 1, 2026

Oliver Oneal Ziglar (Rusty), passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026 surrounded by his family just days before his 102nd birthday. Rusty was born on June 11, 1924 in Enterprise, Alabama to Gertrude and Jessie Ziglar.

He attended high school and then served in the U.S Army Air Corp. , from February 1943 to January of 1946 and continued serving in what became the United States Air Force. While in the military he served in Europe, North Africa, England, and after 20 years retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in October 1963 at McCoy Air Force Base in Orlando, Florida. After his military career, he worked in Civil Service for the U.S. Government as the Base Housing Manager at McCoy Air Force Base until May of 1986.

Rusty was a Mason at Eola Lodge, Chapter 207 and had been a long-time member of Conway United Methodist Church, which is now Conway Community Church.

He was a sports enthusiast, an avid golfer, and loved to watch football and baseball games. He was known to give coaching tips to his son, Phil Ziglar, who was a High School Football Coach that recently passed away in February 2026. Rusty stayed fit by working out every day. He loved country music, dancing, and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Rusty was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and a cherished great- grandfather, whose kindness, strength and steady presence touched generations of our family. Outside of our family, many of our friends have had the pleasure of chatting with him, sitting on bleachers at football games, leaning on a fence, sitting on the back of his truck, in a camp chair in his garage and while walking his dog Opie. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanene Ziglar, his daughter, Paula Graf (Dana), stepdaughter, Cathy Lamb, stepson, Steve Ross (Sabrina) granddaughter, Stephanie Ziglar (Carl), grandson, Heath Ziglar, step grandchildren, Shannon Joy Smith, Brad Gattis (Kristin), and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Lois Ziglar, his sons, Philip Ziglar, David Ziglar, and his daughter, Peggy, Sue Ziglar.

While we deeply mourn the loss of Rusty Ziglar, we also celebrate the extraordinary 101 years of life, he was blessed to live. His wisdom, generous spirit, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of our family, and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
