Perry Hampton Kirton left his earthly home and joined his Heavenly Father Tuesday, September 16th, surrounded by family and friends.
He led a life profoundly invested in people. He connected with and cared for people in a special way that was uniquely Perry. His reach was far and wide. He opened his heart to most everyone he encountered, without judgement, but with an unyielding love for his fellow man.
Perry was proudly born and raised in Neptune Beach, FL on September 3, 1985, joining the Kirton ranks behind his older brother, Parker. From the day he was born, he carried the role of brother with intention and continued to lean into that role with each one of siblings - Ken, Terry, Kimberly, and Spencer. They affectionately deemed him the "Golden Child" and the "Sheriff".
Perry was proud to be a Kirton, carrying on deep family roots behind his father, Ken. Ken and AnnDee raised the Kirton brood to love big and that's what you got.
Growing up, and throughout his life, he and his brothers excelled at motorcross, rooted unabashedly for the Jags and the Florida Gators, loved fishing the nearby canals of their neighborhood, and later enjoyed the adventures of offshore fishing. In more recent years, he got himself a big ol' pontoon to share his love of the water with his family, tried his darndest to hunt turkeys with the best of them, and continued unabashedly rooting for his two beloved football teams.
Perry met his girl his junior year at the University of Florida, living their best college days on a Kappa Sigma Grab-a-Date; but their truly best days still lay ahead. He and Anna married on August 4, 2012 with all their friends and family belting out their Love Story. They committed to each other before God and they clung tightly to those sacred vows as they built a life and a family together. They welcomed three precious children, Perry (Hampton), Clayton, and baby girl Bristol. His greatest joy and source of pride was Anna and their babies. He loved and protected them fiercely.
Perry is predeceased by his mother, Anne Vonderau Perry, whom he loved very much. He is survived by his wife, Anna, children, Hampton, Clayton, and Bristol; his parents, Ken and AnnDee; his brothers and sisters, Parker, Ken, Terry (niece, Owen), Kimberly, and Spencer; his in-laws, Rocker Salzer and Jean Walsh, Karen Hicks, and Rocky and Jessica Salzer; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The world will forever be missing one of the Lord's good and faithful servants. Those who know and love Perry will forever be missing a deeply devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend.
A GoFundMe has been created as a way to collectively support Anna and the children as they navigate life without Perry. If you would like to support the family in this way, please know that no matter the size, it is a blessing and deeply appreciated. Support Anna & the Kids
Perry will be celebrated by family and friends in Orlando. An additional service will be held for him in Jacksonville in November.
