Obituary

Richard “Dick” Enz, 91, was born on April 16, 1935, in a small town in Ukraine and passed away on September 23, 2026.

Dick lived a remarkable life marked by strength, service, gratitude, and a deep love for his family. He spent part of his childhood living through World War II before eventually making his way to the United States, where he built a life he was always deeply thankful for.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Major after serving as a Nuclear Research Officer. Following his military retirement in 1979, he continued his career with government contractors as a Database Engineer, supporting work directly connected to the Air Force.

Dick was the proud father of Troy and Lisa and a loving grandfather to Stella, Easton, Sam, and Emily. He also remained close with his former wife, Mary Ann. Family brought him great joy, and some of his happiest moments were spent supporting his children and grandchildren in their music and sports and simply being present for the things that mattered most to them.

A lifelong sports fan, Dick especially enjoyed cheering for the University of Wisconsin, the Atlanta Braves, and the Green Bay Packers. He also loved reading, gardening, electronics, cars, and the simple comfort of spending time at home.

Those who knew Dick will remember his kindness, his quick sense of humor, and his ability to make people laugh. He was grateful for what he had and appreciated the simple things in life.

One of his proudest accomplishments was writing The Little Ukrainian, the story of his childhood during World War II and his journey to the United States. The book stands as a lasting reflection of his perseverance, courage, and remarkable life.

Dick will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by his family and all who knew him.
