Robert C. "Bob" George, 89, of Orlando, Florida, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018. He was born October 24, 1928, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, to Chester and Zella Reesman George.
Bob attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Stetson University in Deland, Florida. He was an educator who taught school in Pennsylvania and Orlando.
He was also an elementary school principal in Orlando and an assistant director at the Vocational Technical Center in Lake County, Florida. Bob served two years in the Army in Muskegon, Michigan.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Eustis, Florida. Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Orlando; daughters Karen (Duane) Nichols, Merritt Island, and Kathy Hill, Orlando; son Kevin George, Cumming,
Georgia; step-daughters Amy (Alton) Elliott and Lynn Murray (Stephen Ruebelman), Orlando; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; former wife Jean Schoenle, Orlando; and beloved four-legged buddy Bill.
He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Elayne (Kevin) George; step-daughter Joy (Rick) Dorman; granddaughter Carissa George; and step-granddaughter Jamie Dorman.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 29, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, Orlando, Florida. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
Interment will take place on Monday, April 30, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, Florida.
