Ronald L. May passed away January 8, 2024 in his home in Orlando.  He was born in Cumberland, Maryland to William and Clara May, August 18, 1928.  He grew up in Fort Ashby, West Virginia where he was a star basketball player and also ran track.  He went on to play basketball at West Virginia University.  He married Jeanette Pyle and they had one son.  He served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War.  The family moved to Orlando in 1957 where he began as a playground director at Delaney Park.  He retired as Assistant Superintendent of Parks and Recreation for the City of Orlando.  He was a believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior.  He was a deacon and taught Sunday school for many years at Walnut Street and Dover Shores Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Janet. He is survived by his son, Ron (Vicki), grandchildren Ashley May, Greyson May and Taylor McDermott (Patrick) and great grandchildren Kaleb May, Flynn McDermott and Brody McDermott.

A graveside funeral will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando on Friday, January 19th 2024 at 1:00 PM
