Skylar Maroon

May 27, 2000 — March 8, 2017

Skylar Elizabeth Maroon born May 27, 2000, surrounded by her friends and family, went to sing with the Angels and walk with the Lord Jesus on March 8, 2017 at 5:27pm. Skylar loved to sing, hang out on Park Ave and at Rollins College, go to social gatherings, take selfies/photo shoots with her friends and post/chat on social media. She just loved people and making new friends. Even though she didn't seem like it sometimes, she cared very deeply for each and every person she met. Skylar was a very forgiving person with a heart of gold. Skylar attended Acceleration Academy high school where she was a junior. There, she was very close to many classmates and teachers and had a special bond with her principal Doug Loftus who cared for and mentored her as one of his own. Skylar had a special bond with all of her friends and has left a lasting imprint which will carry on forever. Her smile, her touch, her love for singing, her compassion, her caring, and her sometimes quirky way will be cherished and remembered by all. Skylar is survived by her mother Shelly Maroon, grandmother Yvon Maroon, uncle Michael Maroon, aunt Amber Maroon, great aunt Dorothy Eckerson, great Aunt Elizabeth Oller, great grandmother Elizabeth Chandler, grandfather Virgil Maroon, aunt Michelle Young, uncle Brian Young, grandma Shirley Young, aunt Flamure Aliji, aunt Tammy Hayden, cousins Myles and Aubrey Maroon and cousin Jenafer McKnight, cousin Shay-Ann Doyle. So many loved ones go to be with the Lord and the pain and anguish left behind seem too great to bear. The time Skylar spent here on earth seems so short. But, her purpose here has been served by all whom she has touched and now God has a new purpose for her up in heaven. I take comfort in knowing that you Skylar are at peace in a place so beautiful and majestic and that you are with the Lord Jesus. The mark you left will be everlasting on this earth. I am very honored and proud to call you my daughter. There will be no good-byes...I will see you soon. Mommy loves you Monka.
