Ted Forrest

July 6, 1942 — September 3, 2021


Ted Moore Forrest, 79, died Friday, September 3, 2021 in the hospital. He was a native of Poquoson, VA

Mr. Forrest retired as an Accountant from the Department of the Army, Indianapolis, IN with a total of 30 years for the Federal Government.  He worked with the Wycliffe Bible Translators, Orlando, FL.  Ted served in a number of volunteer positions with the Orange County School system and with South Orlando Baptist Church. He supported his wife with the Guardian ad Litem program for foster children with the 9th Circuit Court, Kissimmee, FL.


He is survived by his wife, April W. Forrest and three daughters: Sharon (Curtis) Metz, Grandson Cameron, Granddaughter Claire of Raleigh, NC; Liz (JT) Ivey, Orlando, FL and Stacy (Robbie) Gerke and Granddaughter Olivia, Orlando, FL.  He is also survived by his sister, Janice (Larry) Edwards of Williamsburg, VA and brother, Tim (Gerry) Forrest of Kernersville, NC and extended nieces and nephews with the family.


Ted and April were married 57 years June 2021. They met in Bluefield College, Bluefield, VA in 1961. It has been a lifetime of twenty-three moves around the United States and even Germany while both worked for the Department of Defense.
Ted had an amazing gift for math, collecting maps, books, and post cards. He loved reading history and watching sports. His favorite things to do were crosswords and Sudoku puzzles. He enjoyed his restaurants in Kissimmee and Orlando. Iced tea was on the table when they sat down to eat. Ted loved his family, grandchildren and having pets in the home.
The family wishes to thank all of the dedicated doctors, nursing staff and administration of the Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, FL and his personal physicians who worked so hard caring for him.


A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:00am at the South Orlando Baptist Church, 11513 South Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32837. Visitation will be 9:30am in the Church Vestibule. Burial will be private at a later date with the family.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the South Orlando Baptist Church Building Fund, or to the Wycliffe Bible Translators, 11221 John Wycliffe Blvd, Orlando, FL 32832 or to the charity of your choice.
