Thelma Tice

Thelma Eagan Tice was born October 22, 1920 in Missouri and lived an active 100 years until her death April 27, 2021. She was the oldest daughter of Cloyd and Ruby Eagan and sister to Corene and Eleanor Faye. They were a farm family who worked hard to survive during the depression. She came to Orlando in 1940 for a short stay to care for her aunt and never left. She worked at various jobs which included the Air Force Base during WW II. Shortly after moving to town she joined First United Methodist Church of Orlando and has been an active member since. While at church, she met Vernon ‘Jack’ Tice and they were married November 7, 1956. They enjoyed a loving marriage for 51 years. In retirement they were active members in the National Camping Methodists camping monthly at various locations.  Thelma loved to care for her family, was an excellent cook and spent many volunteer hours at her church and in the community. She sewed over 400 outfits for local school children. At age 92, she was named Volunteer of the Year at Westminster Towers. She loved being a grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandson. She was a gentle woman of faith who was dearly loved by many relatives and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Rev. Linda Tice, her son Allen Tice, his wife Sharon, grandchildren Samuel, Delaney and Daniel great grandson Richard as well as many nephews, nieces and extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church, 142 E. Jackson St, Orlando, Fl. 32801.

Interment will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8th at Palm Cemetery in Winter Park followed by a memorial service at 11:00 at First United Methodist Church at 142 E. Jackson St., Orlando, Fl. 32801
