William Albert "Al" Sharp

Al Sharp was born in Orlando, Florida.  Son of William Milton and Selene Claire Sharp.  He attended Princeton Elementary school in Orlando and grew up swimming in Lake Ivanhoe.  He attended Memorial Middle School when it was still located in downtown  Orlando and then graduated from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida.  He was hired by Western Electric and he made that his lifetime career for 37 years.  He was exceedingly thankful for Western Electric and proud of their legacy of dependable telephone equipment.  He also served in the US Navy reserve first in Miami and then in Jacksonville.  He met his wife Janet while working at Western. They married in 1963 and had 54 years together before Janet preceded him in death.  Al professed faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at Parkway Baptist Church in Orlando.  He was also a member of Aloma Baptist Church in Winter Park and Murphy First Baptist in Murphy, North Carolina.  Al enjoyed wood working, model trains and anything related to the railroad.

Al is preceded in death by both parents and his elder sister Emily Jane Thomson.  He is survived by his son, Roger Sharp, cousin Samuel Maxwell, five nieces and two nephews.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at Advent Hospice of Central Florida - https://give.adventhealth.com/give/443568/#!/donation/checkout
