Willliam Rawlings Jr.

William Raymond Rawlings, passed away November 2, 2014. Born on August 25, 1930 in Belmont, MA to William R. Rawlings Sr. and Helen Rawlings William joined the Army in June 1950. While he was fighting in the Korean War Conflict William was severely injured on October 7th, 1951. William was a member of A Company, 5th Calvary 1 Regiment, 1st Calvary Division. William received a Purple Heart and three Bronze Service Stars while proudly serving his country. Later in life, he worked at Guiding Eyes of the Blind in Yorktown Heights, New York and retired from the United States Postal Service in Orlando, Florida in 1997.William was preceded in death by his Parents William Helen C Rawlings, Sr., Brother, Robert F. Rawlings, Grandson, Charles Jason Hendrix, Granddaughter Grace Rawlings and Nephew Robert Rawlings, Jr. He is survived by loving Wife of 30 years Joyce of Orlando, Florida, Daughters Linda Rawlings of Houma, Louisiana, Ramona Rawlings of Prescott, Arkansas. Stepchildren Larry Keeno Davina of Modena, New York, Tammy Ponzo Dominick of New Windsor, New York, and Robert Keeno of New Windsor, New York, SisterinLaw Bonnie Rawlings. Grandchildren Daniel Bourgeois, William Bourgeois, Chad Bourgeois, Rachel Naquin, James Rawlings, and Brandon Rawlings. Seventeen Great Grandchildren, two Great Great Grandchildren, ten Step Grandchildren and three Step Great Grandchildren
Visitation for William is scheduled for Friday, November 7th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home, 2811 East Curry Ford Road, Orlando, Florida, 32806. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Williams beloved church: Reeves United Methodist Church, 1100 N Fern Creek Ave., Orlando, Florida, 32803 at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 8th, with his final place of rest at Oaklawn Cemetery, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida where Military Honors will be observed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Reeves United Methodist Church in Williams memory.
