Tribute to MAC

She was my wife and my life. It doesn’t get any better.

JDC8

For MAC – Our Mom

A sweet, sassy lady with a kind heart and an independent spirit.

Who never forgot how to be a kid, and always had time to play.

Who never met a stranger.

Who was “Mom” or “Grammy” to all the children who were fortunate enough to know her.

Who was always up for an adventure – big or small.

Who was always there with a helping hand.

Who said “Why not?” instead of “You can’t”.

Who, with our Dad (JDC8), taught us how to love, what makes a good marriage, the value of true friendship, and that families stick together.

Who made the world a better place.

Who lives on in the hearts of those who love you………….

From CJD Daughter #1

She lived to the age of 84 years old. The last 4 she wasn’t our mom so much anymore. Her battle with Alzheimer’s ended peacefully Sunday morning July 12th.

Where do you begin to describe your mom? She and Dad taught us all the things we needed to learn to become good adults. She took such good care of our family and welcomed all into her home.  She was the wife, the mom, the grammy, the great grammy, the daughter, the sister. She cared about every single friend my sister and I brought to the house. Some of them are family now too.  Same with the grandchildren, any friend’s they brought, she cared about them too.

She loved to go, anywhere, didn’t matter, let’s go.  Her sense of adventure, her braveness, her integrity, her patience, her sweetness, her sassy. All of it. Her ability of always finding a way to get what was needed even if money was scarce. She stood 4’10”, but to me she was 6’ tall, someone to look up to and try to be like.

If you have a picture or a memory you want to share with us, please do so.

Guess I’m the one who talks the most, Janet, Daughter #2

From Jeremiah, grandson

Love you grandma we gonna miss ya and all the wild adventures and things you did and did not care if we were allowed to or not. Letting us drive to get our pizza at 12-13 years old. Or using the Ford Escort as a drift car in your yard. Or taking us to the cemetery to drive.

A get-together to honor her life will be scheduled at a later date; once the social gathering restrictions with the Covid-19 pandemic are eased.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations go to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Go to Alz.org
