Mary Roddy

On Monday, April 12, 2021, Mary Roddy passed away at the age of 78.  She was the third child of Wallace and Anna (Ryan Walsh) Roddy and grew up in Fairfield, Vermont where she attended local public schools including an all grades one room school.  For high school, she attended a Catholic boarding school along with her sister Ellen.  Upon graduation, Mary moved to Orlando to attend business school.  She remained in Orlando and developed a career in the mortgage/title business in various positions with increasing responsibilities.  Mary took great satisfaction in her career successes.

Mary was fun loving and humorous.  She enjoyed life with her friends, family and co-workers.  Baking and gardening, as well as, traveling were part of Mary.  However, having fun was not only her only goal in life and she could often be found reaching out to friends and others in need.  Others have often commented on how she had helped them through a life crisis.  In the late 70's, Mary took on the role of primary caregiver for her mother who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease.  After she retired, Mary remained busy with such activities as volunteer work at her church.

Mary's brother, Br. Guy Roddy predeceased her.  She is survived by her brother, John Roddy who was her devoted caregiver; her sister, Ellen Peloubet; brother-in-law, Perry Peloubet and their three daughters.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 22, 2021 1PM in the CAREY HAND COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, Orlando, FL. Visitation for family and friends will be held 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home.  Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to "The Br.
